The new engine

brand new, outta the box and right away we have some surprises.
Nice alloys sump, which means we now need new lower sump mounts
The masking tape covering the ports was dried out, was a nightmare to get rid of.
The engine was also originally desgned to be a wasted spark engine, but it is a lot easier to convert back to dizzy than upgrade the car for the engine.
You would need:
coil pack
ecu
new fly wheel
blue band injectors
ect.

Or swap the exhaust cam out :)

 Resurfaced flywheel fitted
New clutch ready to go on.

 all fitted
Power steering pump needed a bit of loving.

Inlet manifold refurbishment, including replacement of the o-rings on all the injectors.

The inlet ports where coated in vapoured oil, which needed cleaning out. This was also evident in the upper inlet and throttle body, but nothing elbow grease can't fix.
 Lower inlet fitted.
Throttle body was coated in oil

New replacement inlet and exhaust gaskets from stock.
Initial fit of the manifold, but on attempting to fit the aux holsters this had to come off again.

 Aux mount refurbed and fitted.
New Alternator, replacement aircon pump and the rfurbed power stearing pump fitted.
Engine dress-up kit fitted
 Powder coated water pipes reftted.
Gearbox needed ALOT of cleaning, this was after 40 minutes
After 1hr stuff wasn't budging for anyone.
1hr 35 minutes in, i stick of cleaning fluid and its time to start on the inside.
2hrs 10 minutes later, stage one of the cleanng is complete. its now sat in a chemical which will eat through the remaining ground on oil ready for me to give it another jetting later.

Cleaning - oil is not always your friend

Not the most fun part of the job but needed to say the leased.
All this oil is caused when the crank seal fails, and by the look of it, that was a while ago.
 gearbox adapter plate
 inside the gearbox
Starter motor

So lets begin with the before pictures.

Our parts washer is a mix of various acids and diesel which makes for a formidable oil desovling tank. Add to that some elbow grease and anything is possible.

 Looks almost new

Im not saying thats clean but DAMN!
