Deconstruction begins

As most of the parts on this car are going to be replaced with new, each component needs breaking down to its smallest form so thet parts that are being replaced can be easily added when we start putting it back together.

As with everything rover/mg even the oil filter had rust.....

Loose cable ties holding cv boots on and missing abs rings
Hubs off ready for replacement wheel bearings which will be pushed out later.

 Down pipe obviously shot
Cat looks ok except for 2 of the 3 bolts snapped off but these can be drilled out if needed.
 Centre pipe is fine
Back box is fine and after a bit of research appears to be from a 220 gti/gsi hatch
Got to love branding.
Fuel tank has seen a fair clobber
Rear suspension finally relented its grip on the car with the help of the grinder

So started looking at the front of the car finally, few damaged parts were found.
Main holding bracket missing from the top right of the grille
Headlamp glued togetheron drivers side
 Bracket snapped on passenger side
Hockey sticks snapped on both sides

Slam panel mounting brackets look to have been attacked with a grinder in their past and left to rust
Luck we have spares on the shelf
Radiator doesn't leak but there was a major dent in it.
Aircon pipework was interweaved throughout the entire engine bay with soft alloy couplings holding it TIGHTLY together, oh joy.
New shiny radiator brackes planned for when we start to put it back together.

Engine finally coming out after unravelling the multitude of aircon pipework.
Ready for stripping to the bare minimum.
Flywheel coated in the remenance of the clutch plate which looks to be about 50% gone
 Anyone any good at jigsaws?
